April Ice Storm

Rain, slush, ice and snow! Yes that was our weather pattern on Tuesday-Thursday! I think we all knew that old man winter would haunt us this Spring, because he really didn't this Winter!  I'm very thankful we had power throughout the storm, unlike so many others in our community and those surrounding us.
The only tree we have in our yard, is BIG and OLD.  Last summer we lost a big branch during a thunderstorm, and now we've lost a couple more due to the ice & snow!  We woke up several times on Tuesday night from the cracking & crashing of branches.  We lost power, but only for about an hour.  The tree branches were already so heavy with ice, and then Wednesday night we received a coulpe inches of heavy, wet, snow!  This was a recipe for disaster!  Mark and my Dad stayed busy removing debris on Wednesday and Thursday!  Mark came home early from work on Tuesday afternoon, and went on Wednesday morning, but was sent home before noon.  They lost power and knew it wouldn't be restored until Friday, so he got Thursday off!! Here are some pictures of the storm, again we were thankful that we had power and no branches landed on our house!
First comes ice....

then comes snow!
