Easton's Big Boy Room- finally finished!

We really should have taken before and after pictures so people could see all the work that Mark did!  It took every Monday in February along with some weekends, and a little help from my parents.  My Mom painted the dressers & desk, Mark painted the bedroom, and Dad painted the closet.  And if you're thinking, "what did Cassie do"? Don't worry, I had to clean and organize all the junk we had to take out of the room to get it to this point :) I did help paint a little bit, and did a coat of stain on the bookshelf.  My Uncle Bob made the book shelf for Easton. Easton loves his room, and loves to show it to people when they come over! His transition went so well, I don't think he even contemplated which room was his.  He has slept through the night every night since moving, and loves to play and read books in his room.  We're very happy with how it turned out, and the only thing missing is handles on the dressers.  Grandpa Radtke offered to take care of those for us, so when they come out next month, we're hoping to get those put on.

Both boys have nice closets, I'm glad we decided to paint them too!

Easton's reading corner.  I framed his favorite book and a book of my Dad's from when he was little.

Chalkboard paint on the door, Easton just doesn't know it yet!

Playdate

Easton loves to play with kids.  He really enjoys daycare and has some pretty good little friends already.  My friend Andrea came over on Saturday morning for coffee, and Easton had a great time with Greeley and Winslow :) Greeley insisted on taking his clothes off, but his Mom made him put his pants back on! It didn't take long for his little brother to follow suit, and of course Easton wanted his shirt off too!  It took a little more work as I still dress him in a onsie :) Thanks for coming over and bringing the powdered sugar donuts, a first for Easton!

February Fun!

Here are some random photos from the month.  Easton is getting to be such a little ham!  His facial features are so funny, and his little personality is really starting to come out!  He enjoys his snack time, is very careful carrying it from the kitchen to this table, and of course still sleeps like a champ!  Love this kid, I'm getting so anxious to find out if his little brother will take after him!
Grandma Jo made Valentine's Cupcakes, mmmm they were good!

I got this one day in my fortune cookie, I wish they knew what they were talking about!

I'm ready for the lake this summer Grandma & Grandpa Montag! Got my new life jacket, I'm all set!

Selfie? I don't remember taking this, just found in on my phone!

Easton's usual position at 5 o'clock

We welcomed a new member to the extended family!  Cousins Cam & Preston got a new puppy, Zoey! She's a Teddy Bear breed, super cute & tiny!

Playing in the snow!

It was a sunny Saturday morning, and when I checked the outside temperature and realized it was in the 30's we were headed out!  Easton loved every bit of it.  He enjoyed the fact that Nelli got to come with us :)  I had a hard time getting them to come in, even after an hour!

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a fun day to reach out to those you love! Easton's room at daycare celebrated with a party, and of course Valentine's! He brought little bags of Goldfish for each of his friends.  I even baked a heart shaped cake for him to share at daycare.  Easton was showered with love from his Grandma & Grandpa's and also his Mom & Dad! He added a new stuffed dog to his collection, a movie, puzzle, and of course books :)  If you remember last year, I took a fun picture of Easton for Valentine's.  This year I wanted to do the same, look how much he's grown!

Big Boy Room

Mark started priming the "big boy room" on Monday.  I've been patiently waiting for this weekend for him to finish that, and start painting! I am so excited to see this room come together, I've thought about working on it myself to get it done faster! But, if you know me I HATE painting!  But patience isn't one of my virtues.  I might work on the wallpaper this afternoon/evening.  Mark has a work event so won't be home till late.  The closet is wallpapered from like 1960, and needs some work.  Grandpa Gary, do you want to come visit and finish this mess? :)
I've been getting a lot of ideas off of Pinterest for Easton's room.  I'm not sure they will all pan out, but so far they've been pretty inexpensive.  My Mom has started painting the old bedroom furniture, and I can't wait to see the finished product.  The cordless roman shades came last week, I'm very excited about those!  Key word- cordless!!!! Easton will have a reading corner, that I know he'll love.  My Uncle Bob is building him a bookshelf.  Not sure yet if we'll paint or stain it, but looking forward to seeing that also.  The biggest factor here is getting the 2nd crib, mattress, and rocking chair paid off so it can all come together :) Come on tax return!!!
Still debating on double strollers.  So many people tell me to go the jogger route, but it's more expensive.  But they say the longevity of use beats out the other styles.  Then the choice of going long or wide?  Will I be mall shopping or street walking?  I think taking two kids to the mall by myself isn't in my near future plans anyways!!  3 months and counting :)
Shopping at Lowe's for paint, first time driving a cart :)

Super Bowl Sunday

That was the WORST football game I've seen in a long time!  However, it was some of the BEST food I've had in awhile! We went to James & Cori's house for the game.  It was nice, Easton played the whole time, which allowed Dad to watch the game, and Mom to graze the buffet :)  I'm making myself sound like a cow, but really I'm just a pregnant women that has lots of cravings, and they were all fulfilled that evening :) LOL!
Daddy was ready to go before Easton, I thought we'd have to leave to get Easton to bed, but really Daddy had seen enough! Better luck next year Broncos, we're still fans......
